Monsters from New York
During three months, fifteen hundred photos are inscribed in my camera. Reflect of the nocturnal life of New York city, print of our addictive and deconstructive bodies, of harrowing artificials lights and pictures likely to the New York culture, I'm trying to transform them to directing some elements which are imposed to me spontaneously. The figurative is confronted to the geometry from my pictural cutting, the bright colors to the raw black. Here for now the sketchs of this paintings that i'm carrying out.
Durant trois mois, mille cinq cent photos se sont inscrites dans mon appareil. Reflet de la vie nocturne de la ville de New York empreinte de corps addicts et destructurés, de lumières artificielles poignantes et d'images propres à la culture New Yorkaise, je m'attache à les retransformer pour mettre en scène des éléments qui se sont imposés à moi spontanément. Le figuratif se confronte à la géométrie de mon découpage pictural, les couleurs vives au noir brut. Voici pour l'instant les croquis de ces peintures que je suis en train de réaliser.
